Rhode Island Foundation President and CEO Neil Steinberg has received the Family Service of Rhode Island (FSRI) “Brighter Futures Award” for his contributions to the well-being of children.

The Pawtucket resident received the award on October 23rd at a luncheon at the Rhode Island Convention Center that drew a record number of nearly 500 attendees and brought in more than $222,000 for FSRI, a statewide human service non-profit, and its programs to address mental health, violence and poverty in public schools. The award was presented by John Simmons, president of FSRI’s board of directors, and CEO Margaret Holland McDuff.

This was the 15th annual presentation of the award. Recent recipients include Central Falls Mayor James Diossa, Brown University president Christina Paxson, and Ed Cooley, men’s basketball coach at Providence College.
