RIDOH reopened Peabody’s in Middletown and Sandy Point Beach in Portsmouth for swimming Saturday, Jul1, 2023. (WJAR)
The Rhode Island Department of Health is recommending the closure of two beaches.
Officials said both Briar Point Beach in Coventry and Hope Community Service Pond in Scituate have high bacteria counts.
RIDOH will continue to monitor and review beach water quality through Labor Day.
