Rhode Island Is Headed In The Wrong Direction In The Education Of Underprivileged Children

Hello.

Every child, no matter what their zip code is, deserves access to an education of their parent’s choice. School choice moves dollars and decision-making closer to the student. The time is now to build a more effective education system for all! A new research tool from the Center allows you to compare states, groups, subjects, and grade levels on the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) tests, which states are required by federal law to implement and report for math and reading.
Rhode Island is headed in the wrong direction in the education of underprivileged children. Combining math and reading scores on the NAEP for grades four and eight shows the Ocean State losing ground against the average state when it comes to students who are eligible for free or reduced lunch.  Our state’s tax credit scholarship program gives low-income students a school choice option to help break a cycle that is failing them.
Take action! Your lawmakers will listen to you. Click here now or on the button below to petition your legislators saying that you want Rhode Island’s tax credit scholarship program to grow. Let them know that you stand for the big idea that is more school choice for the Ocean State.
