RIDOH recommends closing the Beaches at Conimicut Point
and DiFonso Recreation Area

The Rhode Island Department of Health (RIDOH) recommends closing Conimicut Point beach in Warwick and DiFonso Recreation Area (Spring Grove Beach) in Glocester  for swimming because of high bacteria levels.

Beaches closed for swimming:

  • Conimicut Point Beach
  • DiFonso Recreation Area
  • The Beach Club at Larkin’s Pond in Kingston
  • Kingston’s Camp
  • Camp Hoffman
  • Goddard Park
  • Kent County YMCA (Upper and Lower Ponds)
  • Echo Lake Campground

RIDOH will continue to monitor and review beach water quality regularly to ensure safe bathing throughout the summer season. The status of a beach may change on a daily basis. The most up-to-date beach information is available through a recorded message on RIDOH’s beaches telephone line (401-222-2751).
