Roller Disco Returns to Providence Rink with DJs, Dancing and Live Music

PROVIDENCE, RI – The Providence Rink at BankNewport City Center is bringing the boogie back downtown with Roller Disco, kicking-off the season this Thursday, June 2 featuring DJ Barry spinning the best in old school grooves and roller skate classics. The party starts at 5 PM and the disco ball spins until 10 PM all season long. Roller Disco will continue every Thursday and Friday, June through October.

Whether you’re a pro roller dancer with moves to spare or just looking to take a few slow laps around the rink under the flashing lights, The Providence Rink Roller Disco offers a fun, family-friendly and inclusive environment. The Trinity Beer Garden in adjacent Biltmore Park will be open each night, serving craft beer and cocktails for thirsty adults that need a break from the action, or for those that prefer to lounge beneath the stars and soak up the vibes. Select Fridays in June and July will feature live bands alternating sets with top area DJs, bringing a festival atmosphere to the City Center.

Admission is just $7.00, with traditional quad or inline skate rentals available for an additional $7.00. Helmets, wrist guards and lockers are also available to rent for a small additional fee. Reservations and more information on booking birthday parties and other events can be found at theprovidencerink.com. Guests are always encouraged to wear their most outrageous, fabulous and sparkly disco attire.

“We’re beyond excited to launch our second year of Roller Disco here at the Rink,” said BankNewport City Center General Manager Brant Gawrys. “We’re adding more lights, more rental skates, and expanding our sound system to enhance what was already one of the best weekly events in downtown Providence.”
