WEEKLY REPORT

The figure is a visual abstract with text describing that lung cancer screening saves lives and the need for increased screening when recommended.

Screening for Lung Cancer — 10 States, 2017

The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force recommends annual lung cancer screening for adults aged 55–80 years who have a ≥30 pack-year cigarette smoking history and currently smoke or have quit <15 years ago. Only one in eight persons meeting these criteria reported a lung cancer screening exam in the last 12 months.

QUICKSTATS

The figure is a bar chart showing the percentage of U.S. children aged <18 years who received a well-child checkup in the past 12 months in 2008 and 2018, by age group and year, based on data from the National Health Interview Survey. The percentage of children aged 0–17 years who received a well-child checkup increased from 75.8% in 2008 to 86.5% in 2018. In both years, the percentage decreased as age increased.
