MIDDLETOWN, R.I. (WPRI) — Simmons Farm, a goat farm and beloved staple in Middletown, announced they are closing after more than 25 years in business.
“With heavy hearts, Brian and I are ending our farming journey and will no longer be involved or included in Simmons Farm,” the owners said in a social media post. “December 1 will be our final day of operation.”
The owners shared they were given a termination of tenancy to be gone by Dec. 31.
“Years of financial stress and constant family conflict have taken its toll and we’ve been ordered to leave so we will,” the post continued.
“We weren’t looking for an easy life, we were looking for a good life and we lived it well as a farm family for over 25 years,” they said. “Thank you all for all of your love and support over the years!”
