WARWICK, R.I. (WPRI) — A South Carolina man was arrested for allegedly trying to fly out of Rhode Island with nine pounds of marijuana.
R.I. State Police responded Monday to T.F. Green International Airport, where 25-year-old James Perry was detained while attempting to board a Breeze Airways flight with the drugs.
Perry was charged with possession with intent to deliver marijuana and possession of a Schedule I-V controlled substance, according to state police.
South Carolina is one of a few states where all cannabis products are illegal for both medical and recreational purposes.
Court records show Perry was arraigned and his bond was set at $20,000 with surety.
