Statement from Treasurer Magaziner Regarding the Rhode Island Foundation’s Stimulus Spending Plan

PROVIDENCE, RI – General Treasurer Seth Magaziner today released the following statement regarding the Rhode Island Foundation’s stimulus spending plan:

“Stimulus funding should be used to build a stronger economy that provides opportunity for all Rhode Islanders. I have supported the Rhode Island Foundation’s Make It Happen process, including by presenting my own ideas to the committee, because I believe decisions this big should be made in the open with full public engagement, not behind closed doors at the State House. I am very glad to see many of my priorities, including workforce training, housing, and support for small businesses included in the final recommendations and I congratulate the Foundation and its partners on their valuable work.”
