RAYNHAM, Mass. (WPRI) — A Taunton man was arrested on Wednesday, July 10, after troopers allegedly found drugs in his car.
Around 8:45 a.m., 24-year-old Joshua Bordes was reportedly seen using his cell phone while driving southbound on Route 24 in Raynham, according to Massachusetts State Police (MSP).
During a traffic stop for the violation, MSP said Bordes was unable to show a valid license or vehicle registration.
While trying to find the paperwork, state police said Bordes opened the center console, which contained a large stack of cash. According to police, this is a common indicator of drug activity.
Bordes was detained and troopers found that his license was suspended and he had two active arrest warrants.
After a K-9 sweep of Bordes’ car, MSP said four bags of fentanyl totaling approximately 40 grams were found in the rear passenger door.
He was subsequently placed under arrest and booked at Middleboro Barracks.
Bordes was arraigned in Taunton District Court on charges of fentanyl trafficking, operating a vehicle with a suspended license and operating a motor vehicle while holding an electronic device.
