Three police officers injured in Mansfield hotel shooting

Three North Attleborough police officers were injured after shots were fired during an altercation.

Police said they went to the Red Roof Inn at 3 p.m. to serve an outstanding arrest warrants on an individual who posed a danger to the community.

Officers on scene located Kevin Burke, of North Attleborough, and attempted to arrest him.

Police said Burke then fled from police on his car.

According to police, an officer was dragged by the car.

A second officer then discharged his weapon at the suspect.

Officials said Burke was taken into custody a short time later.

Police said Burke sustained a superficial gunshot wound to his arm.

He was treated for his injury before being released back into police custody.

All three injured police officers have been released from the hospital.

The altercation is under investigation.
