Transformative Travel Program – Dominican Republic

Providence, Rhode Island for immediate release, July 10, 2019, Eleven Americans traveled to the Dominican Republic from June 24-30 to work hand in hand with local Dominican families and volunteers with the goal of building a home for a family living in dire poverty.  Additionally, the transformational travel service program offers a unique combination of mindfulness, service learning, cultural immersion and creative engagement programs to empower, educate and inspire women and children living in poverty. The transformation service travel program called Take A Trip, Change a Life is facilitated by Caritas Smile, a Rhode Island nonprofit dedicated to empowering women and children in the U.S. and developing countries.

Gina Johnson, a US-based Business Coach said  “I have dreamed about going on a service trip for 30 years, and Caritas Smile exceeded my expectations. The trip was perfectly arranged with the right balance of service, mindfulness, laughter, gratitude, and adventure. I never thought I would be making an impact while changing my own perspective. I felt as though I was the one receiving. It truly was a magical transformational trip that continually challenged me to step outside of my comfort zone and enjoy every minute of it.”

The next Take A Trip Change A Life Program will take place from January 2-10, 2020 to the Dominican Republic.

But for many people, living outside of the U.S simple resources like a solid floor, clean water can make a world of difference. Our goal this year, in the U.S., is to actively connect companies, communities, and individuals with real experiences through our Take a Trip Change a Life transformational travel program. Creating cultural bridges through education, networking, travel, and technology are the keys to success.
