NATIONAL CRIME VICTIMS RIGHTS WEEK

Honoring our Past. Creating Hope for the Future

PROVIDENCE, RI — Please join Family Service of Rhode Island (FSRI) and Rhode Island Attorney General Peter Neronha’s Office on April 10th at 12:30 pm for the annual Victims’ Grove Ceremony.

Held at Veteran’s Memorial Park in Providence (across from the Rhode Island Supreme Court on South Main Street), the ceremony is part of the federal Office for Victims of Crime, National Crime Victims’ Rights Week (NCVRW), a campaign raising awareness about victims of crime and the support that is available to them. Themed “Honoring Our Past. Creating Hope for the Future”, this year’s NCVRW runs from April 7th through April 13th.

Since 2004, the National Association of VOCA Assistance Administrators (NAVAA) has provided financial and technical assistance to more than 1,000 NCVRW community projects that promote public awareness and innovative approaches to victim outreach, as well as public education about victims’ rights and services.

FSRI is distinguished as one of 92 organizations nationally to receive 2019 community project funding out of 200 applications received by the NAVAA. This is the third year in a row that FSRI has received a grant, on behalf of the Rhode Island Crime Victim Service Providers Steering Committee, to support the ceremony.

The following victim services professionals and advocates will be presented with 2019 Crime Victim Service Awards during the ceremony in recognition of their dedication to supporting, advocating for, and honoring the rights and dignity of Rhode Island victims of crime:
