Thanksgiving: Is shaping up to be the worst day to travel this week. A stronger area of low pressure develops and moves north across New England through the day. This will lead to steady all-day rain in southern New England, and south of the Mass Pike.

Expect a soaking rain for Southern New England and the potential for accumulating snow in northern New England, especially in Vermont, northern New Hampshire, and northern Maine. The Berkshires of western Massachusetts could also see a period of snow or a wintry mix on Thursday depending on the track of the storm. Some areas could see several inches of snowfall above 1,500 feet.

Black Friday: Drier and colder conditions as people head home from their holiday feasts and go out to do some holiday shopping.

The area of low pressure that brought rain on Thursday will be moving out, with a colder airmass rushing in behind the departing storm. An isolated shower is possible early, along with some high elevation snowfall in northern New England, but limited travel issues as a result of the departing system.

A gusty wind will make wind chills feel like the 30s for most of the day on Friday, so bundle up as you head out.
