Woman hit, killed by tractor-trailer in Smithfield

SMITHFIELD, R.I. (WPRI) — Smithfield police said a woman died Monday night after she fell off her bicycle and was hit by a tractor-trailer.
The victim has been identified as 25-year-old Aliana Ciacciarelli of Smithfield.
The crash happened around 9:30 p.m. in the area of 140 Pleasant View Ave.
Police said the truck left the scene, but they’ve since been able to identify the driver. That person’s name has not been released, and it’s unclear at this time if they’ll face any charges.
The incident remains under investigation.
