Wrong child allegedly picked up by DCYF from Providence school

Officials with DCYF allegedly picked up the wrong child on Tuesday from Carnevale Elementary School in Providence.

An NBC 10 viewer said the student that was supposed to be picked up was allegedly left behind.

NBC 10 reached out to both the Providence Public School District and DCYF.

Officials with the school district said the child wassafe and under the supervision of an adult at all times.

A spokesperson with DCYF said they were aware of the situation, and are reviewing the incident.
