12 vehicles damaged due to asphalt on I-95 in Providence

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — A dozen vehicles were stuck on I-95 in Providence Wednesday night after large asphalt chunks were left on the highway, according to Rhode Island State Police.
State police told 12 News the asphalt likely fell off a dump truck on the southbound lanes just before the I-195 split.
One person was transported to the hospital after complaining of pain.
If found, state police said the driver of the dump truck could be cited for failing to secure a load.
