2 men charged in East Providence robbery and assault

EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — Police have arrested two suspects accused of attempting to rob an East Providence store on Monday.

Officers were called to the Cricket Wireless on Warren Avenue following reports of a possible robbery in progress.

Police said two men approached a store employee and demanded money, but not before locking the front door behind them upon entering.

The two men got into an altercation with the store employee before running out of the store and taking off in a black Nissan Altima, according to police.

Officers later spotted the vehicle in the city’s Riverside neighborhood and took the two men into custody.

Police said Isaiah Dalomba, 22, and Temilolluwa Akano, 20, both of Pawtucket, have each been charged with assault with intent to commit a felony and conspiracy.

Dalomba and Akano were ordered held as bail violators.
