Missing Scituate man found dead in the woods

SCITUATE, R.I. (WPRI) — An investigation is underway after an 80-year-old Scituate man was found dead in the woods near his home, according to police.
Officers found the man’s body in the woods off of Central Pike and Collins Lane Tuesday evening. He has not been identified.
The man was last seen alive Saturday morning. His pastor went to check on him and his wife on Tuesday because the couple had missed church, according to police.
Police said the pastor found the man’s wife on the ground suffering from an apparent medical emergency. She was brought to the hospital and is recovering.
Officers began searching for the man after the pastor reported him missing. Police believe the man wandered away from his home and got lost in the woods.
Though the man’s cause of death is unknown, police said no foul play is suspected.
