2018 Open Government Summit

2018 Open Government Summit
You are cordially invited to the 20th annual Open Government Summit. This year’s Open Government Summit will take place on Friday, July 27, 2018, 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., at the Roger Williams University School of Law in Bristol.  The agenda is available by clicking here.
To reserve your spot at the Open Government Summit,
please contact us by email at  agsummit@riag.ri.gov
or by telephone at (401) 274-4400 x2101.
Rhode Island’s Open Meetings Act  (OMA) and Access to Public Records Act (APRA) are critical to ensuring that government operations remain open and accountable to the public.
I strongly believe that we achieve a more open government through education and open dialogue than we do by waiting for and punishing mistakes.  This Summit is an important part of that education and discussion strategy and will focus on the key elements of open government in this state.

While I am committed to ensuring all public bodies comply with our open government laws, we are all better served if public bodies are properly trained and adhere to the letter of the laws.

I thank you for your commitment to an open and accessible government, and I look forward to seeing you at this event.  I also appreciate you forwarding this invitation to other interested individuals.
Very truly yours,
Peter F. Kilmartin
Attorney General
