Capt. Michael Rapoza told 12 News it started when an officer tried to stop the stolen SUV. The driver instead took off and starting driving “recklessly and without regard for the safety of the public,” according to Rapoza.

The suspect cut through the parking lot of the Mobil gas station at the intersection of Pawtucket and Warren avenues, then collided with a police cruiser, causing minor damage.

Rapoza said the four people inside the vehicle were arrested without incident. Their names have not yet been made public, but Rapoza said they will face several charges.
