FRAMINGHAM, Mass. (WPRI) — A piglet abandoned by its owner in Framingham is in need of a new home.

The Animal Rescue League of Boston (ARL) said that the two-week-old piglet, named Magnolia, was spotted Tuesday by a good Samaritan who contacted Framingham Animal Control.

Since Framingham does not have the capacity to care for livestock long-term, the piglet was brought to the ARL’s Dedham Animal Care and Adoption Center on Wednesday.

Magnolia, who weighs only 6 pounds, has settled in quickly and appears to be in overall good health. She still needs neonatal care, according to the ARL, and will not be put up for adoption for at least another month.

The ARL is seeking donations to support the piglet’s care.
