Announcing Arts and Humanities Month in RI

October 1st, 2020
October is National Arts and Humanities Month! National Arts and Humanities Month (NAHM) is a nationwide collective recognition of the importance of culture in America. NAHM was launched over 30 years ago by Americans for the Arts (AFTA), the lead arts advocacy organization in the United States, in order to raise public awareness about the critical role arts and culture play in our communities.
In recognition of National Arts and Humanities Month, Governor Raimondo declared October Arts and Humanities Month in Rhode Island! Check out the video here, and see a electronic copy of the proclamation here.

RI Expansion Arts Program featured in Equity Choice Points!
Published by the National Assembly of State Arts Agencies (NASAA), Equity Choice Points’ goal is to “exemplify the many types of policy and procedural decisions that undergird grant making that may be reservoirs of unintended structural bias.” The Rhode Island Expansion Arts Program was listed in the document as an example of “Eligibility and Adjudication inspiration from the state arts agency network.” You can read more in Equity Choice Points here.
