Diana Perdomo named Chief of Policy to Providence Mayor Jorge Elorza
Kathryn Sabatini named Chief of Policy, Assistant Attorney General to Attorney General-Elect Peter Neronha
PROVIDENCE, RI – Mayor Jorge O. Elorza today announced that Diana Perdomo will serve as Providence’s Chief of Policy, where she will oversee strategic direction and policy development for the City.
“Diana has proven her ability to develop policies and relationships throughout a diverse collection of public and private institutions and organizations over her career,” said Mayor Elorza. “She brings with her many years of project and portfolio management along with a passion for public policy and service that will benefit all of our residents.”
Most recently, Perdomo had served United Way of Rhode Island since 2015 as the Director of Grants and Strategic Initiatives where she directed over $12 million in investments through the stewardship of advisory and review committees, convened agencies to collectively support communities, and provided capacity building and professional development to nonprofit professionals. At United Way, Perdomo was involved with strategic initiatives such as the 2016 Housing Bond Campaign, Housing for All Initiative, Hasbro Summer Learning Initiative, RI Reads Campaign for Grade Level Reading, Rhode Island Afterschool Network, Volunteer Income Tax Assistance, and the Adult Education Project.
Perdomo was also responsible for leading a team of project managers and administrators charged with managing investments in over 50 agencies with a focus on providing lifelong learning and basic supports spanning topics including health, economic sustainability, adult education, workforce development, child care, out-of-school time education and housing affordability.

A Rhode Island resident, Perdomo received her Masters of Public Affairs from Brown University and her B.A. in Global Studies from the University of California, Santa Barbara. Previously, Perdomo had served as Global Relations Officer at Brown University’s Office of Global Engagement where she had managed a portfolio of grants and activities across six continents. She currently serves on the Board of the Rhode Island Latino Political Action Committee, Grantmakers Council of Rhode Island, Governor Gina Raimondo’s Early Learning Council and the RI Legislature Child Care Commission.
Perdomo will replace Kathryn Sabatini, current Chief of Policy and Senior Advisor to Mayor Elorza, who Attorney General-Elect Peter Neronha announced will be serving as Chief of Policy and Assistant Attorney General.

“The City of Providence is grateful for the many years of dedicated service Kate provided,” said Mayor Elorza. “We will miss Kate but know that she will always remain part of the Providence community. I wish her the best of luck in her role with the Office of the Attorney General.”
Sabatini’s last day with the Mayor’s Office will be December 5th with Perdomo transitioning into new her role on January 2nd.
