Fall River man charged for allegedly slashing tires on 56 vehicles

A Fall River man is facing several charges after allegedly slashing 56 tires in the city on Wednesday.

Police said they responded to the area of Mulberry Street and Division Street at 6:15 a.m. for a report of a tire slashing.

Officers were then called to the area of Ridge Street and Cottage Street for another report of a tire slashing.

Police said a total of 56 vehicles had their tires slashed overnight.

According to officials, video surveillance captured a person slashing the tires.

Officers said the man, later identified as 40-year-old Liduino Tavares, was connected to another series of tire slashings.

An arrest warrant has been issued for Tavares.

He was charged with 62 counts of malicious damage to a motor vehicle.
