The Woonsocket Fire Department responded to the fire at a mill on Privilege Street.
Some people living nearby went without power during the incident.

The fire destroyed most of the building, an NBC 10 news crew observed.
An officer on scene told NBC 10 they’re keeping everyone far away because it’s an old chemical plant.
The nearly 221,000-square-foot vacant mill sits on a four-acre lot and was built in 1902, according to a real estate listing.
It’s located along Rhode Island’s border with Massachusetts near Menard Field and Oak Hill Cemetery.
The cause of the fire is still unknown.

This is a developing story, and this post will be updated as more information is known.
