WOONSOCKET, R.I. (WPRI) — A man wanted for allegedly hitting another man with his car on purpose is now in police custody.
Woonsocket police confirm 37-year-old Andrew M. Martin was arrested late Tuesday night during a traffic stop in Pawtucket.
The incident happened around 11:30 p.m. on Monday, July 1, on East School Street.
The victim, 31-year-old Michael Lefebvre, died at the hospital several days later.
The two men were in an “ongoing dispute over domestic relationships,” according to Woonsocket Police Chief Thomas Oates.
Since Lefebvre died, Martin is now charged with murder, along with felony assault and battery, assault with intent to commit specified felonies, driving to endanger resulting in death, and driving without a license.
He’s expected to appear in court on Wednesday.
