The victim and his girlfriend were walking back to their car from a bar off of Bridge Street early Sunday morning when a man approached them, according to a police report obtained by 12 News.

Police said the suspect attacked the victim and began tugging on the gold chain around his neck. The suspect eventually eventually pulled out a firearm and threatened the couple with it before running off with the gold chain.

Neither the victim nor his girlfriend were injured. The victim told officers his necklace was a 10 karat gold Cuban link chain worth approximately $3,800, according to police.

Police said another nearby bar captured the suspect on surveillance footage following the couple closely down the street prior to the attack.

The suspect is described as black man who’s approximately 6 feet tall with a medium build. Police believe he was wearing a black hoodie and white sneakers.
