Police said the body was first found by the owner of the restaurant.

The restaurant owner told police the victim was someone that had worked at the restaurant and was given permission to stay inside the building since he was homeless, according to the police report.

According to police, the building has been closed since July 27.

The lessee of the restaurant building has been in legal dispute with the city of Providence after the city filed an eviction notice last year. The venue only opens for special events.

The police report described the body to be “significantly decomposed.”

Police said they were told that the victim has had serious health issues.

According to officials, the death does not appear to be suspicious.
