The decision was made due to financial difficulties and declining enrollment, according to the Diocese.

“Several months ago, I reached out to the Diocese to notify them of my concerns and they worked collaboratively with me to exhaust every possible way to continue school operations,” Pastor of Sacred Heart Parish Father Silvio De Nard said.

A parent meeting with school leaders has been scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 25.

“We are fully committed to answering your questions and working with you to continue to provide your children all the blessings and benefits of a Catholic education,” De Nard said.

The Diocese said there are other quality Catholic schools in the area like Bishop McVinney, St. Margaret’s, St. Luke’s, St. Teresa’s, St. Cecilia’s., and others which “continue to provide high-quality Catholic education and formation.”
