Treasurer Magaziner to Visit Progreso Latino VITA Site to Raise Awareness about Free File Services
VITA Site Offers Free Tax Preparation for Families Who Make Under $57K a Year
Central Falls, RI— Tomorrow, General Treasurer Seth Magaziner will visit the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) site at Progreso Latino in Central Falls to raise awareness about free tax preparation assistance available for Rhode Island families who earn less than $57,000 a year.
Treasurer Magaziner’s top priority is to promote economic growth and financial stability for all Rhode Island families. During his visit, the Treasurer will meet with volunteer VITA workers to discuss the benefits of using the free file service, including the opportunity for many families to get money back by claiming the earned income tax credit, the child tax credit, education tax credits, and others.
Qualifying community members are encouraged to visit their local VITA site to receive free assistance filing their taxes this year. All VITA sites are listed on treasury.ri.gov.
