Woman wounded in Providence stabbing

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — A 24-year-old woman was stabbed in Providence on Friday night.

A city spokesperson said police got a call around 10 p.m. for reports of a stabbing on Hanover Street, where they found her with a stab wound on her head and cut on her face.

The woman didn’t tell police how she got her injuries, according to the spokesperson, but said she dropped off her daughter at her boyfriend’s mother’s house.

An investigation by police led them to find traces of a scene on Humes Street.

Police are searching for the boyfriend, who they believe is the suspect, the spokesperson said.
