Duties and Responsibilities | The successful candidate will be expected to: •Teach college transfer level courses in Human Physiology, Human Anatomy, and Introductory Biology •Prepare and maintain dissected lab specimens, such as cats, for student prosection •Use technology to enhance instruction, manage classroom, complete administrative tasks and communicate effectively with the campus community • Be willing to collaborate with colleagues to develop research based curriculum and bring meaningful research opportunities to students • Maintain currency in subject content, laboratory methods, technological advancements, and pedagogy within the discipline • Engage in high-quality instruction in a diverse, inclusive and student-centered environment, and the ability to work with students with various learning styles, cultures, identities, and life experiences. • Participate in college activities, including committee work. • Be willing to travel and teach at multi-campus locations as required by department needs. • Demonstrate a commitment to the philosophy and mission of a comprehensive community college. |
Minimum Qualifications | • Minimum of a Master’s degree in Biological Science • Minimum of three semesters of instruction at the college level. This experience should include lecture and laboratory teaching in the following: Human Physiology, Human Anatomy, and Introductory Biology Courses • Should be familiar with the use of common laboratory equipment such as spectrophotometers, microscopes, balances, pipettes, electrophoresis, Biopac, and general lab safety • Strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills • Evidence of a collaborative approach in working both effectively and professionally with students and colleagues |
